Hey everyone,

I'm doing a final read-through of friends with dogs. It's to make sure all inconsistencies, plot holes, etc. are filled, and that all sound effects and music tracks are timed/executed correctly.

LOG:

1) FINAL VERSION AND TESTING - Copy all graphics, writing, audio, credits, etc. into complete version of game. Built, uploaded, and downloaded game multiple times to make sure downloading and extracting didn't take forever.

2) VISUALS - Fixed some sprites for inconsistencies and renamed some backgrounds so they match with the script.

3) WRITING - Editing, proofreading, revising some bits and filled in a few plot holes and details.

4) FILE SIZE AND AUDIO -

The original file size upon uploading to itch.io was massive - nearly 1 GB. It also took a long time to build, upload, and download. Also, I couldn't even play it after downloading because the antivirus blocked it.

I reduced the file size to around 530 MB or so by converting many sound files to MP3s and trimming some sound files. The (relatively) smaller file size sped up build distribution time, slightly decreased uploading time, slightly decreased downloading time, and slightly decreased the time needed to extract the download.

TO-DO:

1) Final read-through
2) Build and upload using Butler
3) Test download and run-through
4) Post about it

Also - Check out Johan's (from Novel & You ✦ Studio)'s amazing pocket chibi of our favorite protagonist, Hayden! They did an amazing job of keeping me updated and sharing their progress through sketches, lineart, and color, and I love the final result! Go on - try to resist the urge to squish chibi Hayden =^.^=
